HTS: Environmental grants now available

EAST LIVERPOOL — Applications for environmental grants are now available from Heritage Thermal Services (HTS) for schools and non-profit groups within a 15-mile radius of the East End facility.

Grants in amounts from $100 to $1,000 are available for projects demonstrating a benefit to the local environment. A total of $6,500 is available this year.

Applications can be downloaded from the HTS Facebook page, the Heritage in the Community section of or by calling 330-386-2194.

The deadline for applying is March 30, and grants will be awarded during the 2018 CitySweep household hazardous waste collection at HTS on April 21.

Since the company first began distributing grants for environmental projects in 1998, schools and community groups have received a total of $87,250 through the program. In 2017, 12 organizations received grants ranging from$250 to $750.
