LISBON — An East Liverpool man was killed early Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle on state Route 45, according to the highway patrol.
The patrol is still investigating the crash, which happened around 4:21 a.m. in front of Lincoln Storage in Salem Township.
According to the patrol, Travis W. Lowther, 42, of East Liverpool was standing in the road when he was struck by a northbound 2017 Chevy Silverado vehicle driven by Michael J. Edmond, 29, of East Liverpool.
Lowther was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner’s office.
The patrol said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by KLG Ambulance and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
