EAST LIVERPOOL — An officer enroute to another call Wednesday night spotted a former Chester, W.Va. man wanted for aggravated menacing sitting on a Minerva Street porch, resulting in him being taken into custody.

Patrolman Shawn Long responded to the other call and then returned to 703 Minerva St., where he had seen Dion “Action” McMillon, 23, formerly of Lewis Road, Chester, sitting.

A warrant had been issued for McMillon’s arrest for aggravated menacing following an incident Monday at The Hideaway Bar during which he reportedly walked in first with a stocking cap perched on top of his head then came back in with it over his face and pointed a firearm at a man sitting at the bar.

Bar owner Chris DeSarro had come to police on Monday, asking if criminal trespass charges could be filed against McMillon, saying he had brought a firearm into the establishment previously and been banished and then returned over this recent weekend.

When Long and other officers– including ones operating traffic cams who were called from that duty to assist– converged on the Minerva Street home Wednesday night, McMillon was no longer on the porch.

Long spoke with occupant Caressa L. Godosik, 25, who said he had been there but left and she did not know where he was.

While speaking with Godosik, Long noticed a male sitting behind the door and, when he made eye contact, the man said, “I’m coming,” and when Long asked who he was, he responded, “It’s me,” and McMillon walked out.

He was placed in handcuffs and officers reported finding a bag of marijuana in his pants.

In addition to the aggravated menacing charge, McMillon was charged with possession of marijuana and Godosik was charged with obstructing official business.

McMillon appeared for video arraignment before East Liverpool Municipal Court Judge Melissa Byers Emmerling Thursday and pleaded no contest to the possession of marijuana charge, for which he was fined $150 and issued a 180-day license suspension.

A pretrial was scheduled Aug. 3 on the aggravated menacing charge, with $100,000 cash/surety bond set. He was ordered to have no contact with The Hideaway nor with Mr. and Mrs. Brian Humphrey, nor to possess firearms or ammunition.
