Fire claims shed

Lawrenceville volunteer firefighters, assisted by personnel from the Chester VFD, responded to a call around 3:17 p.m. Wednesday concerning a utility shed which had caught fire on property along High Acres Drive, located off Route 30, in Hancock County. It was reported a tractor left in the shed on the property, owned by Bruce Chevron, was hot enough from use to cause the structure to catch fire. The shed was considered a total loss, while damage also was reported to contents within the shed including the tractor, a rototiller and some hand tools. The outer structure of a house beside the shed also was damaged. It was estimated the fire caused around $5,000 in damages. (Review photo)
