Wellsville couple charged with murder
LISBON — A Wellsville area couple now have each been charged with aggravated murder in the death of Scottie Johnson on March 8 after the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury met this week.
Terry A. Brown, 47, and Alicia A. Rogenski, 38, both of Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, are each charged with aggravated murder, with a firearm specification, murder, aggravated robbery, complicity to commit aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Court documents alleged Brown and Rogenski helped each other to kill Johnson, which happened while they were attempting to rob him. The charges claim each had a weapon and helped the other alter or destroy evidence. Additionally, the charges state they treated a human corpse in a way that would outrage the reasonable community sensibilities.
Johnson’s body was found in a pile of trash next to the Hillcrest Road home after deputies were called by Johnson’s girlfriend, Brooke Gibson, who lives in Cleveland, indicated she and Johnson usually spoke by phone constantly throughout the day. But he stopped answering her calls and calling her sometime March 8. Johnson’s body was identified by a tattoo on his neck, a set of lips with a ribbon going around them.
Brown reportedly confessed to shooting Johnson in the head, but not to moving the body from a chair in his living room out of the house.
Initially, Rogenski had only been charged with obstructing official business for allegedly lying to investigators about whether she had been at the home when the murder occurred and lying other evidence when she was questioned.
