ODOT weekly maintenance work

LISBON — The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, has scheduled the following maintenance work, this week, for Columbiana County:

* pothole patching, along US 30, from East Liverpool to state Route 267, and along state Route 7, from the Jefferson County line to East Liverpool; tree trimming and canopy removal, along SR154 from Pine Hollow to Fairfield School roads (roadway closed during daylight hours Monday-Thursday); and brush cutting, along SR172 from Lake Knoll to Whinnery roads.

Extra patrols added for prom season

LISBON — The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office will be doing its part to make high school prom season a safer experience.

Sheriff Ray Stone’s office announced it will be adding extra patrols during the prom weekends, a service available via an overtime grant from the State of Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

According to a release, the sheriff’s office will have additional deputies patrolling in the areas of schools during that school’s prom throughout Columbiana County.

Extra patrols will begin April 21 and continue each weekend through May 12.
