East Liverpool student to attend inauguration

Kaileigh Christy

EAST LIVERPOOL — Among students from across the nation selected to participate in the Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit is East Liverpool High School senior Kaileigh Christy, who also attended the presidential inauguration as a middle school student in 2008.

During the five-day summit, students will hear several notable speakers, including Gen. Colin Powell, and participate in Delegations for Change, a simulation in which they will work together to create solutions to challenges their generation and the new administration will face.

Students will assemble in assigned categories, and Christy will be in the Curing the Future Delegation with other aspiring pre-med majors. They have been preparing for more than a month, conducting research to take with them to the conference.

Christy is a member of National Honor Society, Advisory Council, is in the top 10 of her class, four-year varsity soccer, three-year varsity swimming and three-year OVAC All-Academic Team Award winner.
