Emergency personnel from several jurisdictions responded Thursday afternoon to a one-vehicle crash on state Route 11 near the border between the city of East Liverpool and Liverpool Township. The driver was flown from the scene by StatMedEvac helicopter, which landed on the highway as traffic was stopped in both north- and southbound lanes. The Lisbon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Liverpool and St. Clair township police and fire departments, East Liverpool city police and fire, a Highlandtown firefighter who was passing by and both North Star and Lifeteam ambulances responded. According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was southbound on U.S. Route 30 when she lost control and struck a tree. Her name is being withheld until family members can be reached.
