Grabman named as 2016 ‘Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer’

Grabman as the Columbiana County 2016 Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer.

Each year Herron recognizes a local law enforcement officer who demonstrates outstanding ability and contributes to making the community a safer place in which to live.

Grabman has been an officer with the Lisbon Police Department assigned to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force since 2013. In the last two years, he has conducted investigations leading to nearly 50 felony indictments for possession and trafficking in drugs.

The award was presented at a recent Lisbon Fraternal Order of Police event.

In making the announcement, Herron recognized Grabman’s conscientious and persistent approach to his job.

“Brett is an exceptional young officer who understands his powerful role in the justice system and consistently demonstrates a commitment to professionalism,” Herron said in a news release. “His work ethic is an example for all of us to emulate. We rely on the good work of men and women like Detective Grabman to diligently conduct investigations. A successful prosecution always starts with a competent investigation — Detective Grabman has demonstrated the commitment and skills to ensure his investigations exceed that standard.

“Police officers are not recognized enough these days for the good work they do in a difficult job for their communities, so it is always a privilege to recognize them for the positive things that they accomplish. Detective Bret Grabman is an exceptional law enforcement officer whose tireless efforts make his community safer. We’re fortunate to have exemplary officers like Detective Grabman working our streets,” Herron concluded.
