EL man arraigned in connection with Wellsville shooting
LISBON — An East Liverpool man was arraigned Thursday in Columbiana County Municipal Court on an aggravated robbery charge in regards to the shooting being investigated at a Wellsville bar about a week ago.
A Nov. 22 preliminary hearing was set for Curtis D. Holland, 20, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, who is charged with aggravated robbery. The charge claims Jerrell Jeter, the man shot in the back at My Bar, was also the man robbed at gunpoint that night.
Judge Chris Amato set Holland’s bond at $750,000 cash or surety. Holland, also known as “Jew,” is alleged to have pointed a gun at Jeter and told him to give him all his things. Surveillance footage also shows Holland and Dion D. McMillon, also known as “Action,” pushing Jeter to the outside portion of the bar. The men were seen brandishing pistols at Jeter’s head while wrestling him to a fence.
According to reports from the night of Nov. 11, Wellsville police were called to My Bar because shots had been fired. Before police arrived Jeter, 31, whose last known address was Baum Street, East Liverpool, was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital due to at least one gun shot wound to his back. Police began investigating the shooting, including watching video surveillance from areas inside and outside the bar.
According to Municipal Court records, McMillon, 22, East Orange, N.J., is also being charged with aggravated robbery and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday, the same day the warrant was issued for Holland.
In an unrelated matter, Holland was fined $100 for a possession of marijuana, which had been pending since October.
