Woman charged with prostitution

EAST LIVERPOOL — An undercover operation involving the county Drug Task Force and city police resulted in charges against a local woman for  solicitation of prostitution Friday afternoon.

After being made aware of possible prostitution happening in the city via the internet, police checked the web page and followed the directions, making contact with a female with whom arrangements were made for an interaction of sex for money, according to Chief John Lane.

The time and a meeting place – the Broadway Wharf – were agreed upon, and a DTF officer posed as the John, making some small talk at the wharf with the woman, agreeing on a spot in Dixonville to “make the act happen,” Lane reported.

According to Lane, once the officer and woman agreed the price would be $120 for a half hour or $160 for an hour, the traffic stop was made, and Sarah E. Muschweck, 25, Stagecoach Drive, was arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution.

She was released until her appearance in East Liverpool Municipal Court.
