Investigation leads to drug bust, arrests
EAST LIVERPOOL – A rental home in the city and a Wellsville motel, both owned by the same person, were searched by law enforcement officers Friday, with drug paraphernalia and other items found, resulting in the arrests of two people.
Search warrants were executed at 923 Vine St. in East Liverpool by the task force and sheriff’s office, including K-9 officer Jesy, and at the Emerald Inn on Clark Street in Wellsville by the task force, sheriff’s office and U.S. Marshal Service.
According to city police, Aaron Stevens is the owner of both properties, with Amanda Bragg, 35, and Anthony Williams, 23, living in the Vine Street home, and the motel unit occupied by Gerald Bryant and Mariah Beaver.
At Vine Street, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and more than $1,000 in cash were discovered.
Williams was charged with obstructing official business, while Bragg was taken into custody on outstanding warrants for three counts of possession of drugs and permitting drug abuse.
Three other people were seen leaving the residence as officers searched inside the two-story house.
In Wellsville, drug paraphernalia and more than $300 in currency were found inside Unit #3 at the motel. No charges were reported in regard to this search, nor were ages or permanent addresses reported for the occupants.
According to task force Director Brian McLaughlin, the search warrant in East Liverpool resulted from a four-month investigation, and in Wellsville, the search warrant was based on a six-month investigation.
As the investigation continues, additional charges are expected to be filed, McLaughlin said.
