Point Pleasant Ladies
CHESTER — The Point Pleasant Ladies, President Carolyn Allison, welcomed 26 members and four guests to the November dinner meeting and lit the Memory Candle for those unable to attend.
The attending guests were Anna Raines, Bud Simmons, Alex Staub, and Pastor Bob Staub.
Pastor Staub blessed the food with prayer. Joyce Littell catered a delicious meal.
Following the dinner, Nancy Wright introduced Mr. Staub and Simmons who provided a wonderful musical program. Staub played the keyboard and Simmons played the dulcimer.
As devotions for the evening, Allison reviewed the “Let Your Light Shine” 2018 theme, read a poem and prayer, and led the ladies in singing “This Little Light of Mine.”
To begin the business meeting, Secretary Nancy Conkle read the October minutes, and Treasurer Carla Fryer presented the financial report. Betty Glenn told how many cards she sent during the month.
The ladies brought personal items to be placed in baskets for the residents at the Stone Pear Nursing Home and the Pepperberry Assisted Living facilities in Chester.
Donations were made to the Christ Tree at Point Pleasant Methodist Church and to Shop With a Cop.
Allison, Conkle, and Fryer will remain in their elected positions for 2019. Vice President Lisa Subrick decided to resign in order to give someone else the position. Tracy Lemley was elected to this position for the new year. Wright will remain as Program Chairman, and Glenn will continue to send cards.
Allison reported that guest Raines joined the group as a new member.
Joys and concerns were brought forth followed by silent prayer.
The meeting was adjourned by everyone reading a benediction prayer.
The next meeting will be held on March 13, 2019.
