NEWELL — Newell Community Improvement Coalition meets 7 p.m. today in the Wells Building. Public welcome. Volunteers needed.
HAMMONDSVILLE — Edison Local School District’s annual district-wide open house is today. Edison Jr./Sr. High School, Stanton Elementary and John Greg Elementary opens their doors 4:30-7:30 p.m. to tour the buildings, meet with teachers, staff and administrators and learn what is going on in the respective buildings.
MIDLAND, Pa. — Pasta buffet served 4-7 p.m. today at St. Anthony Club, Beaver Avenue, Midland. Menu includes wedding soup, salad, homemade bread, pasta aglio e olio, stuffed shells, spaghetti, penne carbonara, eggplant parmesan, sausage, meatballs, dessert and coffee. Cost is $12 for adults and $4 for ages 12-under. Carryout available.

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool High School Ladies Class of 1962 meet for lunch 1 p.m. Wednesday at EJ’s Family Restaurant in Chester.
n GUILFORD LAKE — A fish fry at Guilford Lake Ruritan, state Route 172, is 4-7 p.m. Friday. Cost is $10. Proceeds go toward community service projects.
WEIRTON — Amy Lavere, from Memphis Tenn., will take the stage Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Weirton Event Center. Gates for the concert will open to the public at 5 p.m. Free parking is available for all events in the Strip Steel Community Federal Credit Union lot off Main Street (except in the ATM lane), the alley off Lee Avenue, the Millsop Community Center and on Main Street. Bus service is available from Millsop Community parking lot.
In addition to events planned by the Top of West Virginia, the Weirton Event Center is available for rent for family, community or organizational event. Rental for the Weirton Event Center includes the use of the grounds, on-site restroom facilities, the stage and a paved, covered picnic/meeting area.
