GLENMOOR — TOPS 1341 met at Glenmoor Presbyterian Church on Aug. 20, with leader Marlene Reynolds, presiding.
Best loser was Pat Allison and runner-up was Lydia Kraft.
Drawing winners were: calorie chart, Darlene Naukam; weight loss and junk food, Reynolds; jackpot, Kraft and 50/50, Janice Hutchin.
The no-nos are cookies and potato chips.
Losing three weeks in a row was Marwynne Serafy. Kraft was in the losers book three times and in the attendance book for eight weeks. Also in the attendance book were Kitti Phillips, 16 weeks; and Jane Proctor, 120 weeks.
Travel Box 1 is held by Dana White and Box 2 by Kraft.
Visitors welcome 5-6:30 p.m. Mondays.
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Point Pleasant Ladies Aide held their annual August picnic meeting at the church. As the ladies entered the fellowship room, they were greeted with a very colorful emoji theme.
President Carolyn Allison welcomed the members and introduced guest Nancy Holdsworth who later declared that she would join the group.
Vice President Lisa Subrick read the “Let Your Light Shine” devotion.
The blessing before the covered-dish picnic meal was read in unison.
The business meeting was opened with Secretary Nancy Conkle reading the June minutes and correspondence from the Herron Family and Swaney Library.
The financial report was given by Treasurer Carla Fryer.
The upcoming River Fest in New Cumberland was discussed, and Betty Glenn gave a report on the cards she had sent from the group.
Donations were given to the New Cumberland VFW for the Wounded Warrior project and to Karen Randolph to be used in her teaching activities.
Joys and concerns were shared and followed by silent prayer.
As adjournment, the ladies read a closing prayer.
The hostesses for the picnic meeting were Charlene Brown, Linda Dulaney, Ella Louise Herron, and Tracy Lemley.
The next meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the church.
