Out and About

EAST LIVERPOOL — The dates for the spring book sale at Northside Community Church in East Liverpool have been set for April 13-14. The largest book sale in the area, it is to include hundreds of brand new books from the former Best Books First store, courtesy of a donation from Sarah Vodrey and Jeff Hendrickson. Many hundreds more are from Carnegie Library of East Liverpool, which has culled its collection over the winter. “Many kind individuals have donated more hundreds of books since the last sale,” said Caren Miller, book sale chairman. As in past sales, proceeds go to Tenwek Mission Hospital in Kenya, Miller said. Funds from this sale will go toward rebuilding a laundry, kitchen, patient ward and administrative facility destroyed by fire on Feb. 9.
