WELLSVILLE — A fundraiser dance to benefit the Wellsville High School band is 7-10 p.m. today, Saturday, at the Wellsville Alumni Center. It’s a “throw back dance to the old town hall days. Come dressed in the style of your graduation year,” a release states. Music of the decades by DJ Josh Rambo. Admission is $6 per person. Concessions, door prize and chinese auction available.
LISBON — The 1000 books before Kindergarten, helps prepare your pre-K child for school. Your child will receive a free book once they’ve completed the program. For information, call Lepper Library at 330-424-3117.
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Hancock County Health Department will conduct a food handler class 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at Mary H. Weir Public Library, Main Street, Weirton. Free class, however, there’s a $10 fee to receive a food handler card good for one year. A two-year card is $20 and a three-year card for $30. Any person involved in food service in Hancock County is required to possess a current food handler card. The class is for volunteers as well as those employed in the food service industry.

Payment for online class may be made by using a credit card or “Pay Pal.” Participants may also print the complete verification and pay the fee at the Hancock County Health Department during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The office is closed noon to 1 p.m.
