Infanti named January Student of the Month

SALINEVILLE — Southern Local High School senior Mattisyn Infanti has been selected as the Salineville Kiwanis Student of the Month for January.

Infanti, the daughter of Ron and Amy Infanti of Wellsville, currently ranks sixth in her class with a 4.0 grade point average.

She is a member of the school’s leadership committee, Spanish Club and student council, prom and homecoming committees and has served as her class secretary and a member of the National Honor Society for the past two years. She also has been on the A Honor Roll throughout her high school career, participated in the College Credit Plus program at Eastern Gateway Community College and has been a member of the SLHS Fall and Winter Homecoming Courts.

Additionally, Infanti has studied dance since age 10, including ballet, jazz, hip hop and pointe, and has worked as an instructor at the Henry Mancini Arts Academy in Midland, Pa., for two years. In her spare time, she has been an athletic director’s aide, a member of the school Blue Crew, volunteered through the NHS at the Columbiana County Humane Society and the school’s American Red Cross Blood Drive and Veteran’s Day assembly and also lent a hand at Lindsey’s Christmas Hospital Toy Drive.

Upon graduation, Infanti plans to study early childhood education with an emphasis on special education but her college choice remains undecided.
