EAST LIVERPOOL — Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will celebrate the First Sunday in Lent with Student Pastor Nancy DeStefano during the 11 a.m. worship service. Her sermon is titled “The Terms of God’s Contract”. Aaron Bunfill will sing “Lord, Have Mercy”. The annual Congregational meeting will be held at noon. The PW soup luncheon will follow.

EAST LIVERPOOL — First United Methodist Church, West 5th Street, will celebrate the First Sunday in Lent, led by Judy Kidder, during the 10:45 worship service Sunday. She will bring the message, “How High’s the Water.” Scripture will be read by Kidder and the choir will present the anthem, “Trust and Obey.” Alison Hamilton will accompany the service on the piano.

The Women’s Bible Study meets 10 a.m. Tuesday and Boy Scout Troop 41 meets at 7.

The Bell Choir meets 6:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by the Choir at 7:30.

GLENMOOR — The Glenmoor ECO Presbyterian Church, state Route 267 (Lisbon Street) will observe the First Sunday in Lent and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper this Sunday during the 11 a.m. service of worship. Pastor Vel Vais’ topic is titled, “Set Free” with the text from Genesis 2:15-17. Children’s Church and Nursery Care are provided during the service. The church is handicap accessible.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Mr. Tom Gualtier will be the guest speaker during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at Grace Presbyterian Church. His sermon title will be “Flesh Against the Spirit”. A brief congregation meeting to follow. Children’s Sunday school is held during the service.

CALCUTTA — Worship service begins 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Long’s Run Trinity Presbyterian Church. Sunday School is 9:30. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer’s sermon is titled “Over the Rainbow”. This message is based on scripture from Genesis 9 and I Peter 3. The choir, under the direction of Carol Walton and Holly Pickens, will be singing “Come Build a Church”. John McGraw will be the accompanist. Nursery is available during the service. Choir practice is held after the worship.

Session meeting Monday. Lydia Circle meets Tuesday. Bell choir practice will be on Tuesday. Kingdom Kids meet Wednesday.

Lenten dinners will be held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. throughout the Lenten season, with the first one this Wednesday.
