EAST LIVERPOOL — TOPS 1390 met Jan. 9 at Oakland Free Methodist Church with leader, Naomi Cowsert presiding. Wanda Price won the challenge starting the new year having kept off the weight loss through the holidays.
Karen Brereton explained a new gumball machine game and a weekly challenge to those willing to accept the challenge. The 50/50 was won by Brereton. Cowsart’s birthday and anniversary were recognized.
EAST LIVERPOOL — A short meeting of The Area Seniors was held on Jan. 11, with eight members in attendance. President Jean Tomlison welcomed everyone and requested a Bible verse from Lois Burris. Prayers, pledges and singing followed.
Due to the absence of Secretary Diane Carnegie, former Secretary JoAnn Ficks read the minutes of the Nov. 30 meeting and checked attendance of officers. The minutes were approved and will stand as read.
Treasurer Gail Grimm brought us up to date on club funds. Grimm stated she paid the rent for October, November and December. No new bills were submitted. Grimm took up a collection and donation for the FISH Organization for two months.
Suzzane Andrews celebrated her birthday today. Members sang “Everybody Has a Birthday”, and members wished her many more.
Ruth Wynn was the lucky recipient of the 50/50. Tomlison read a short story about the hugs that help. Members sang “The Evening Prayer” and Burris made the closing prayer. Next meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 18, weather permitting. Bring a sack lunch.
