Church Briefing

NEWELL — The Glendale Church of the Nazarene, 6th and Glendale Road, will have a Candle Light service 6 p.m. Sunday.

SALINEVILLE — Bethel Presbyterian Church, Steubenville Pike Rd, Salineville, will hold its Christmas Eve Service 7 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks will lead the service of scripture, carols, communion, and candlelight. Zeke Paulowski will be at the organ.

GLENMOOR — The Glenmoor ECO Presbyterian Church, state Route 267 (Lisbon Street) will celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent this Sunday during the 11 a.m. service of worship. The Advent presentation and lighting of the Advent Wreath will be Luke and Tamara Myers and children, Evan and Chloe. Pastor Vel Vais’ topic is “What a Blessing!” with the text from Luke 1:26-38. The church is handicap accessible.

In the evening, Christmas Eve, there will be a Prelude of Music at 6:30 p.m. and the Candlelight Service will begin at 7. Pastor Vel Vais’ topic is “Making Room” with the text from Luke 2:1-14. Beth Weir will be the soloist.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Mr. Rick Stanley will be the guest speaker during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at Grace Presbyterian Church. His sermon title will be “God’s Plan, God’s Love”. Georgetta Russell and Leah Bosco will light the candle for the 4th Sunday in Advent. Children’s Sunday school is held during the service.

The Rev. John Bower will be the guest speaker during the 6 p.m. Christmas Eve service. His sermon title will be “The Baby Changes Everything”.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Northside Church, Orchard Grove Avenue, will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service 6 p.m. Sunday.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Trinity Presbyterian Church will celebrate the Fourth Sunday in Advent, Christmas Eve, during the 11 a.m. worship service, with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Cramer officiating. John McGraw will start the service with the Prelude called “Do You Hear What I Hear?” The choir will sing “Hallelujah” with a solo by Joliana Dissette under the direction of Carol Walton. The Dissette children will light the fourth candle of Advent afterwhich the congregation will join in singing “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence”. Rev. Cramer’s message “Surprise”, is based on the scriptures from II Samuel and Luke 1. A traditional Christmas Eve Service begins at 8 p.m. Communion will be observed and passing of the Gospel Light will take place. A Blessed Merry Christmas to all.
