EAST LIVERPOOL — First United Methodist Church, West 5th Street, will celebrate the First Sunday in Advent during the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday. Rev. Larry S. Hukill will bring the message, “Not a Silent Night: Beginning with the End”. The Choir will present the Anthem, “Let Everything with Breath Praise God”. Poinsettia Orders and the Christmas Kids tags from the Barbara Tree need to be returned to the church by next Sunday, Dec. 10. The Children’s Ministry Tree is in the Gathering Place to receive hats, gloves, socks, etc. to be distributed by the Salvation Army. The Trustees meet 6:30 p.m. and the Admin Council at 7:30, Monday.The Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study begins at 10 a.m. The choir meets at 6:30 p.m. and the Bell Choir at 7:30 Wednesday. The Men’s Fellowship Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

CALCUTTA — Holy Communion will be celebrated this first Sunday of Advent during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at Long’s Run Presbyterian Church, following Reverend Cramer’s sermon “Patience, NOW!”, with scriptures based on Isaiah 64:1-4 and I Corinthians 1:3-7. The sacrament of Holy Baptism will be celebrated presenting Cameron James Anderson for baptism. Sunday School begins at 9. Nursery will be held during the service.

NEWELL — The Glendale Church of the Nazarene will be having a Winter Open House from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. A light lunch will be served. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m., celebrating the First Sunday of Advent, the Hanging of the Greens, and our annual Home for Christmas Program. Sunday School begins at 9:30.

LaCROFT — The Greenes, a southern gospel trio, make a local stop in their “If I could give you anything for Christmas” tour at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at LaCroft Church of the Nazarene, 507 7th Ave., East Liverpool. Having appeared in Gaither videos, the trio consists of Tim Greene, Keith Skiles and Warren Finney. Greene has written more than 500 gospel songs including three No. 1 hits. “Their message in song is of hope and peace found only in the Lord,” a release states. “You won’t want to miss their great singing and wonderful testimony. EAST LIVERPOOL — The Second Baptist Church, East Liverpool, will host The Ohio Valley Missionary Union at 3 p.m. Sunday.
