CHESTER — The Chester Hometown Christmas is Saturday, Dec. 2, with the theme “Cozy Country Christmas.”

Free children’s activities 10 a.m. to noon at Chester City Park main pavilion including visits with Santa, letters to Santa, face painting, Fiesta plate craft, selfie station with props, hot cocoa and cookies.

A Chinese auction runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chester Fire Department. Proceeds benefit FISH.

LISBON — The Lisbon Salvation Army Unit will be collecting donations in the form of a Fill-a-Van event for the Lisbon area’s less fortunate children. Donations may be made in the form of toys, clothing, or monetarily. The event will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Lisbon Family Dollar, state Route 45.

CHESTER — The Orchards’ Alzheimer’s support group meets 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Peachtree Inn, Fox Lane, Chester. The group will discuss “Grief, Loss and Getting through the Holidays” with social worker Kim Bullock. Holiday decorations will be made. Free to attend. RSVP to 304-387-0101 x458.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Hope Christian Fellowship, located across from the Beaver Local football stadium, state Route 7, will present “The Sounds of Christmas 2017” at 7 p.m. Dec. 9, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 10. Slated as a musical celebration of the season and the Savior, the annual production will feature the Praise Choir, vocal ensembles, soloists, sign language team, children’s ensemble, comedy and dance all woven together with narrative.
