‘Women in White’ event set Aug. 11-12

EAST LIVERPOOL — The theme of the 8th annual “Women in White” Christian Women’s Conference is “Becoming a Woman of Valor: Getting Over Fears, Flaws and Failures to Live Bold and Free.”

The conference takes place 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Pleasant Heights United Brethren Church, Grandview Street, East Liverpool.

Speakers include Pastor Kim Gadd, House of Prayer, East Liverpool; Assistant Pastor Shalonda Thurmond, Mega Blessing Church of God in Christ, Toledo; Patricia Forbes, The Salvation Army, East Liverpool; and Lisa Strickland, Mount Calvary Church, Midland.

Attendees will have a choice of two workshops on Friday: “God’s Plan for Becoming Bold and Free,” presented by Makesha West, First Baptist Church, Wellsville; and “Healing Hands,” with Minister Denise Taylor, Greater Faith Family Worship Center, Industry, Pa.

Workshops on Saturday include “Soul to Soul,” a time of sharing life changing events in women’s lives, with Tina Watts, Mount Calvary Church, Midland; Beth Shaffer, Cindy Hull, and Mary Zirillo, House of Prayer, East Liverpool; and “Wonder Woman!: I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me!,” Candace McCoy, president, Womens’ Aglow International, East Liverpool Chapter.

Two interactive events available are “Beautiful Feet Evening,” a teaching on how to share the gospel, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news,” Isaiah 52:7; and “Prayer Mosaic,” “stations” where attendees can go for prayer.

Free admission. A freewill offering will be taken. Attendees asked to bring favorite dish to share with the group.
