NEWELL — A Rummage Sale will take place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4-5 at Newell United Methodist Church, 4th Ave. and Grant Street.

EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool High School Class of 1956 Men’s Breakfast is 9 a.m. Saturday at Adrian’s.

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville Veterans Memorial Council is honoring those lost in the Vietnam War with new T-shirts that are now on sale.

The shirts are navy blue with yellow lettering. The front corner states the council’s name, while the back reads “In memory of the 58,272 brothers and sisters who never returned. Vietnam War 1959-1975.”

Shirts are $18 for sizes medium through extra large, $19 for XXL and $20 for XXXL, and are available at the Wellsville VFW, 359 Main St.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the renovation of the Fourth Street Park.

IRONDALE — Old Fashion Community Days take place Aug. 4-5 at the park in Irondale.

At 5 p.m. Friday, the Irondale Fire Department’s fish or chicken and french fries dinner will be held, followed by Homecoming Committee Bingo.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, the raising of the American flag by Boy Scout Troop 49. Activities throughout the day include a craft show (crafters welcome to set up table), chinese auction, 50/50 drawing, bingo, bounce house and games. Entertainment at noon.

Irondale Methodist Church will have a concession stand, offering french fries, corn on the cob, and apple dumplings with sauce and ice cream.

The Irondale Fire Department, Saline Township EMT, and police will be on hand, with information about their department.

WEIRTON — Tom Zielinsky, local author, will speak about his new book “Rockyside: A Forgotten Mining Community” and to learn about the lives of the clay miners and their community in New Cumberland, 1 p.m. today (Aug. 3) at the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center, in the Discovery Room upstairs at the Museum, Main Street, Weirton. His new book is currently available at the museum for $20.

EAST LIVERPOOL — An all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser will be served 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Beacon Association, Maplewood Ave., formerly Wee The People III. Cost is $7 adults, $5 kids 5-10 and free 4-under. Menu includes eggs, home fries, pancakes, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee, juice, or milk. All proceeds go to the Beacon Association for community events such as Special Olympics, Relay For Life, Pottery Festival, City Clean Ups, Haunted House Fundraiser, Christmas Parade/Light Up Night, Future Scholarship Funds for the 4 local area high schools, helping other community organizations at events/fundraisers, and any future events that will Help us “Build A Better Community Through Service”.
