WELLSVILLE — The Food Pantry is open 3-5 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Center Street. Bring ID and bags. Must follow eligibility guidelines. Accepting only new clients from the Wellsville area.
EAST LIVERPOOL –The senior walk will take place 2 p.m. today at Beaver Local High School. Last year our school district started this memorable graduation tradition. At the end of the last day for the seniors, they put on their caps and gowns and walked through all of the halls of the high school, middle school and elementary school. The halls are lined with all of the school children from grades K-11 waving goodbye and high-fiving the seniors.
SALINEVILLE — A special Baccalaureate service, to honor graduating seniors, will take place 6 p.m. Sunday, at Southern Local Junior Senior High School. The service will take place in the cafeteria and include special music by area children and seniors, short messages from three Southern teachers and prayer for the seniors. Refreshments will be served following the service. Public invited.
GLENMOOR — Glenmoor American Legion’s steak fry is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday. Menu includes steak, potato, salad and roll. Cost $12.50 dine-in or $13 carryout. This will be the last steak dinner and will resume in the fall.
NEW MANCHESTER — Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club will host a “Women on Target” class on June 10 at the Club on Gas Valley Road.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $35 and preregistration required. Classroom instruction, lunch, firearms instruction and shooting after lunch. Class limited to 25.

WEIRTON — The Hancock County Arts Council (HCAC) invites children to light up their summer with a student painting class from 6-8:30 p.m. June 8, at Summit Art Gallery, Main St. Cost is $25, including all materials. The class is appropriate for students in Grade 3 and up. Students are not required to be accompanied by adults. Participants are welcome to bring their own snack. Pre-registration and payment required, and can be done by calling the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau at 304-797-7001.
Nancy Wright, retired art teacher from St. Joseph School, and Joyce Beatty, artist and HCAC member, will be the class instructors. Students will work with acrylics, learning blending and shading. All material will be provided to paint a piece titled “Summer Firefly Creation.”
