EAST LIVERPOOL — TOPS 1390 met on March 14, at the Oakland Free Methodist Church located at 1551 Etruria Street.
Dee Kiger, leader, opened the meeting with the TOPS and KOPS pledges.
Florence Smith was the weekly best loser and Vesta Ferlaino was the runner-up. The no-nos for the week are potato chips.
Ferlaino was recognized for losing three weeks in a row and will have her dues paid for April for wearing the most green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Kiger won the calorie chart drawing, Smith won the dimes and Ferlaino won the 50/50 drawing.
The winner of the check contest was Ferlaino. A new check contest begins next week and the “Easter Egg Basket” contest continues.
Kiger announced the Awards Ceremony will be on April 18, and presented the program entitled “Healthy Advantages of Drinking Lemon Water”. Mildred Elliott volunteered to have the program next week.
The meeting closed with prayer requests, the Lord’s Prayer and the Friendship Circle.
The chapter meets every Tuesday, with weigh-in from 5:30-6:30 p.m. New and former members are always welcome.
EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool Area Seniors met March 16 with 11 members attending. First Vice President Jean Tomlison brought the meeting to order by calling on Martha Baxter for a Bible reading. Prayers, pledges and singing followed.
Secretary JoAnn Fickes checked the attendance of officers and read the minutes of the March 9 meeting. The minutes were approved and will stand as read.
Treasurer Gail Grimm made her weekly report and stated she wrote one check for the FISH Organization. No new bills were submitted. The report was approved and will stand for audit.
Club Supervisor Baxter stated Easter dinner will be April 6. Members that paid for the Christmas dinner (that was canceled) will have their Easter dinner paid for.
This week’s lucky recipient of the 50/50 was Lois Burris.
Motions to close were made by Baxter and Diane Carnegie. Members sang “The Evening Prayer”, and Baxter made the closing prayer.
Next meeting will be March 23. Bring a sack lunch. The meeting closed for bingo.
