Amedeo to celebrate 100th birthday

CHESTER — The family of Rose Amedeo, a longtime resident of Chester, is announcing her 100th birthday on April 3, 2017.

A daughter to the late Catherine and Charles Prezzia of Wellsville, she graduated from Wellsville High School in 1936. She first worked in the family grocery store in Wellsville, and also worked at Bell Telephone Co., Olson’s Department Store in East Liverpool, and Waterford Park Race Track in Newell.

Rose married Tony Amedeo on June 19,1948. They served Meals on Wheels. She is a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Amedo has one daughter, Lynn, and son-in-law, Ray Devroye; two grandsons: Ray Anthony and wife Dru, and Eric Devroye and wife Suzanne; five great-grandchildren: Andrew, Isabella, Nicholas, and Samuel Devroye of Laurel, Md., and Taylor Bevan of Ellicott City, Md.
