Sosack selected as Student of the Month

Preston Sosack

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville Lions Club has selected Preston Sosack as the Student of the Month for October. He is the son of Mary Ann and James Sosack of Irondale. He is ranked 1st in the WHS Class of 2017 with a GPA of 4.00. His academic awards include the following: National Honor Society, A-Honor Roll, and 3.75 Honors.

Sosack has received awards for excellence in English I, II, & III, Spanish I, II, & III, American History, World History, Geography, Health, Biology I, Physical Science, Chemistry, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry and he received the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology.

Among his high school clubs and activities are the following: Y-Teens, Science Club, Student Council, and is also a member of Academic Challenge and the National Honor Society. He is involved with Project PAWS (Positively Affecting Wellsville Students) Mentor program at WHS in 2016-2017 school year.

Sosack volunteers his time with The Lion’s Club Breakfast with Santa, Garfield Elementary’s PIE Night and the National Honor Society Holiday Hustle 5K. He also spends a large amount of his time assisting Wellsville High School’s Technology Director, Mr. Bill Ricciardulli, with many of the daily technology tasks in our district. Some of those tasks include setting up projectors and screens for events district wide. He also helps ensure the connectivity of the Wi-Fi in our building; he has experience working with our 3D printers, and rebuilds and installs computer systems. He worked all summer as a tech assistant, preparing the districts computer for the launch of the school year.

He plans to attend Youngtown State University and major in Computer Technology in the fall.
