Adams named ‘Student of the Month’

HOOKSTOWN — Alexandra Adams, a senior at South Side High School, has been selected the November Student of the Month by the South Side Education Association. She is the daughter of Tammy and Samuel Adams of Hanover Township, Georgetown.

Throughout high school, she has been involved in the Teen Leadership Corps, Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Soccer, and Varsity Cheerleading. She has been a student ambassador to Japan, Czech Republic, England, Spain and France and has participated in high school musicals.

Miss Adams has been named to the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout high school, has received South Side’s Top English Student Award for grades 9-11, and is the Beaver County’s Distinguished Young Woman, and has received the Challenge Program Community Service Award. In addition, she was a PA State choir qualifier and has been nominated for the Henry Mancini Best Actress award. In her free time, she enjoys running. She has just completed both the Pittsburgh and Columbus  half marathons. She is presently interning with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Gateway to the Arts, the Pittsburgh Irish Classical Theatre and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre.

After graduation, she plans to use her vocal talents to improve the world, to study abroad, and to attend a four-year university to major in Business with a concentration in Arts Administration.
