Students at Oak Glen Middle School participated in a school-wide writing initiative on Oct. 20, 2016. Students in every class wrote on the same topic at the same time. The prompt was to pretend that there is no such thing as technology. What do you do with your time? A winner was chosen by the classroom teacher and submitted to each grade level PLC for final evaluation. One overall winner from each grade was then selected and prizes were awarded to the top grade level winners. The event was held in conjunction with the National Day on Writing sponsored by the NCTE to help celebrate the importance, joy, and evolution of writing.
