SALINEVILLE — The Southern Local High School gym will be the site of a holiday vendor fair on Nov. 19 that benefits the youth and high school wrestling programs.

The event is noon to 4 p.m. Some 25 vendors have registered to participate thus far.

A concession stand and raffles will be offered and children’s activities will be provided so parents can shop.

Table rentals are $30 and need paid in advance, plus vendors also are asked to donate one item for the raffle. Winners need not be present to win. For more information, contact Laura Krulik at 330-679-2305, ext. 4022.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Team Chris will have a benefit quarter auction at noon Saturday, Nov. 5, at the East Liverpool Moose Lodge. Proceeds go toward a kidney transplant for local resident Chris Aikens, 60, who  has been diagnosed with Wegener’s Granulomatosis Vasculitis, a rare disease which attackes your main organs. Team Chris was formed and a foundation has been set up through Home Savings Bank in Calcutta. The foundation’s name is Kidney for Chris. Donations for the quarter auaction may be made through the Team Chris web page, by contacting a Team Chris member, or by calling Robin Aikens at 330-385-3561.

SALINEVILLE — Southern Local Schools will observe Veterans Day, honoring area military, on Nov. 11.

Local veterans will be treated to breakfast at 8:30 a.m. with an assembly starting at 9:30. Students in grades K-12 will take part. The public in invited to attend.

Band Director Emily Bowling said students will provide music and readings while the grades 5-6 and high school choruses will sing. Additionally, the high school band will perform a variety of selections and the Salineville American Legion John Adams Post 442 Color Guard will also be on hand.

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Missions Roast Beef Dinner will be served 5-7 p.m. Nov. 10 at First United Methodist Church, W. 5th Street. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 children 6-12, and 5-under free. Carryout available. Call the church office for tickets at 330-385-5269.
