WELLSVILLE — Friends and family of 2004 Wellsville graduate Lindsey Salsberry honored her memory and helped several children battling cancer as well Saturday with Lindsey’s Christmas Pasta Dinner at the Wellsville Sons of Italy.

Proceeds from the event, which also included a chinese auction, go toward the purchase of toys for Oncology patients in Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in memory of Lindsey, who passed away March 13, 2007, at age 21, following a 22-month battle with cancer.

This marked the fifth year for the dinner and the 10th year for the toy drive, which so far has delivered nearly 11,000 toys for children who are battling cancer. Among the more than two-dozen prizes from the auction included a tablet and a copy of “Even Her Tears Were Yellow,” autographed by author Steve Logston.
