Christmas parade set for Dec. 3

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Beacon Association, along with the East Liverpool Tourism Bureau, is announcing the annual East Liverpool Christmas Parade will take place 6 p.m. Dec. 3 along the streets of downtown East Liverpool.

In addition, a “Light Up Night” ceremony will take place in the Diamond area of the downtown, following the parade’s conclusion.

The theme of the 2016 parade is “When Christmas Dreams Come True,” and in conjunction, residents will receive the opportunity to make that happen by donating items for needy children of the area.

A pickup truck will be located in the Diamond area, where donated food, clothing, and toys may be dropped off to “help make this a special Christmas for needy children in the community,” organizers say.

The donated items from the “Fill-A-Truck” campaign will be delivered to the East Liverpool Salvation Army, where officials there will allocate them to local families.

The truck will be on site from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 3.

Parade organizers also “are inviting local groups in the area to have a vending booth located along the parade route to provide hot chocolate and coffee.”

Those wanting to register for the parade, interesting in having a vending booth or with questions about the “Fill-A-Truck” campaign may contact Brian Vaughn, president of  Beacon Association, at 330-831-5754.

Parade registration is being accepted now through 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at Wayne Wells Flooring, 420 East 5th St., East Liverpool.
