Ladies Aide meets

CHESTER — Festive Fall decorations and delicious refreshments greeted twenty-nine ladies to the Oct. 13 meeting of the Point Pleasant Ladies Aide.

Linda Marsh said the blessing before refreshments were served.

Alex Staub, an Oak Glen Sophomore, entertained the ladies by playing beautiful selections on the piano.

The business part of the meeting was called to order by President Carolyn Allison.  The Memory Candle was lit for those not in attendance.

Marian Caine read a selection called “If Teacups Could Talk” and shared a beautiful teapot, and an antique teacup and dolie.  Lisa Subrick shared the devotions titled “Gifts” from the Living a Chocolate Life theme.

The minutes were read by Nancy Conkle, and Mick Goffoli gave the financial report.

Allison reported on the proceeds from the Old Time Fair and the River Fest.

Each member voted for their menu choices for the Nov. 9 catered dinner.

The members voted to make a monetary donation to the Wounded Warriors, Allison Elementary and New Manchester Elementary Schools.

Carla Fryer volunteered to be the Treasurer as the present office-holder is moving to Pennsylvania.

Guests Jessica Kefer and Pat Silbaugh became new members bringing the total membership to 34.

Concerns and Comments were shared, and Linda Marsh offered prayer.  As adjournment, the members recited a benediction verse.

The hostesses for the evening were Nancy Wright, Betty Gibson, Eileen Snyder, and Marla Simmons.

The next meeting will be held on Nov. 9.
