WELLSVILLE – Tops 2231 met at First Christian Church, 831 Main St., on Aug. 26. Members weighed in and meeting was opened with Tops and Kops pledges.
Tops and officer best loser was Linda Waggoner, Kops best loser and receiving a prize for three weeks no gain was Anita Kukich. Donna Hawksworth also won a prize for returning from vacation with no gain. The dimes were won by Verla Betteridge and Waggoner won the 50-50.
The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.
The no no’s for the week are fritos and salty snacks.
Beginning Sept. 2, a game called “The Mystery Box” will be played, with the winner being chosen Sept. 30. Good Luck.
Donna Hawksworth read an August newsletter from the regional director and the chapter voted in favor of ordering the “Tops Chapter Manual” for each member.
The annual picnic consisted of a very relaxing atmosphere with each member bringing a covered dish. Swapping recipes was enjoyed and members discussed upcoming events such as the Fall Rally to be held Oct. 18 in Alliance. All members are encouraged to attend.
The meeting was concluded with prayer requests and the Lord’s Prayer.

Receiving a prize for 3 weeks no gain was Verla Betteridge; the dimes were won by Mona, and the 50-50 went to Anita Kukich.
Cassie Stephens, treasurer, read her report for the previous week’s meeting, and minutes were read by secretary Linda, both were approved.
The no no’s for the week are chocolate and cookies.
The picnic will be held next week after weigh in at 5 p.m.
With the purpose to motivate and help those of us who feel discouraged when only losing a pound, our program consisted of a visual demonstration of what a pound of fat actually looks like. All members were in agreement that losing only a pound is worth the effort.
The meeting closed with prayer requests and the Lord’s Prayer.

Kops best loser was Verla Betteridge, officer best loser was also Verla. Three weeks and six weeks no gains and winning a tea towel was Verla.
Dimes were held over and Mary Wolf won the 50/50. The calorie chart was won by Verla Betteridge and the no no for the week is ice cream.
For the program, it was discussed having a picnic before summer was over, also discussed keeping our friends and family members who are ill in our thoughts and prayers, even discussing the terrible problems with drugs in our city and the many countless deaths due to this problem and what could we all do to help.
Meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer and prayer requests.
