MIDLAND – Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center will kick off its free summer concert series with Pure Gold at 6 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy the doo-wop music as Pure Gold performs material from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, as well as a blend of blues, standards and original material outside in the park. Bring your lawn chair and refreshments.
SALEM – Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing is holding an informational enrollment meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the Kent State City Center Building, 230 N. Lincoln Ave. Anyone interested in learning more about the nursing program for the September class is welcome to attend. For information, call 330-332-8940.
IRONDALE – United Methodist Church Strawberry Festival is from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, sloppy joes, nachos, salads, and all kinds of strawberry desserts and ice cream. Carry-out available.
CHESTER – The Lynn Murray Memorial Library is offering a Summer Reading Program. This year’s program’s theme is Fizz, Boom, Read. The six-week program is for all area school age children grades K-6. The program is designed to encourage children to read during the summer break. Incentives are given to those who participate. Pre-registration is required and the first meeting is 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday. You may register your child by either stopping in or calling the library at 304-387-1010.
WELLSVILLE – The WHS Class of ’64 will meet at noon Friday at The Roadhouse. Try to attend, only a few weeks until the reunion and there are some last minute things to finalize.
EAST LIVERPOOL – The ELHS Class of 1948 will have its annual picnic on June 28 at the Elk’s Pavilion, off the Y&O Road. Lunch will be at 1 p.m. All class members are welcome.
LISBON – The Beaver Local High School Class of 1964 will celebrate its 50th reunion the weekend of July 25-27.
Events will include a school tour and meet and greet Friday; golf and dinner, Saturday; and brunch on Sunday.

SALEM – Arts and Crafts in the Park will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 28 at Centennial Park. This year’s event includes raffles, 50/50 drawings and a free children’s craft program. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost is $25 for a 20×20-foot lot and $10 extra for an 8-foot table and two chairs. For more information or to reserve a spot call 330-332-5512.
SALEM – A bass fishing tournament is slated from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14 at Salem City Lake. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third-place. The entry fee is $20 in advance and $25 on tournament day. Checks may be made payable to the Salem Memorial Building and mailed or dropped off to the Memorial Building, 785 E.
