Out and Abouts for Feb. 8

WELLSVILLE The Committee to Save Immaculate Conception Church will hold its weekly prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church on 5th and Main St. All former parishioners are invited to attend.

NEW CUMBERLAND – The Oak Glen High School Culture Club will present a Valentine Murder Mystery Pasta Dinner Theatre, “Love is many a Splintered Thing” at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Chester City Park Building.

Guests will be served homemade pasta dinner while they watch scenes of the play. Then, the actors mingle so diners have the opportunity to ask questions to solve the crime.

Prizes will be awarded to those who guess the murderer and the weapon. Tickets are $15 and may be reserved by calling 304-387-1063 or 740-264-7891. Reservations suggested but not required. All proceeds help fund student trips to cultural events.

EAST LIVERPOOL – Michelle Hawkins from Senior Independence will be at the Community Resource Center, 940 Pennsylvania Ave. at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The topic will be Elder Abuse.

EAST LIVERPOOL – The VFW Post 66 will be serving breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon, Sunday.

The menu includes: eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, homefries, biscuits, sausage gravy, hotcakes, toast, tea or coffee. The cost is $4. Carry outs available. Public welcome. For information call 330-385-6632.

CHESTER- VFW Post 6450 Ladies Auxiliary Annual Soup Sale will be from 11 am. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The choices of soup will be Vegetable or Potato, served with crackers, Bean soup served with corn bread. Soup prices will be : Quart $6.50, Pint $4.50 and Cup $3. Orders are currently being taken by calling Mikie Haigh at 724-378-9277, or Bri Cooper at 304-491-9244. Phone orders must be placed no later than Feb. 11. Carryout or eat-in. Local delivery will be available for an additional $2.
