By the Numbers

The Numbers Brewing Co. announced it has recently obtained a license to begin distributing its line of craft beers in West Virginia. The microbrewery is partnering with Weirton-based Wine & Beverage Merchants of West Virginia to distribute its product throughout the Mountain State starting this week. Numbers Brewing is currently available at 50 locations in Ohio and West Virginia,. The news comes just a month after Numbers Brewing broke ground on a new 2,000-square-foot brewing facility at its North Beaver Street location. It will house a 15-barrel Deutsche Brewing System capable of producing 30 kegs of beer at a time and replaces the 2-1/2 barrel system in use.

Farm Service Agency

The Columbiana-Mahoning County U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) is announcing that Bryan Snyder, New Springfield, and James Beardsley, Salem, have been elected to represent their local administrative areas (LAA) during the recent county committee election. Every FSA office is served by a county committee made up of local farmers, ranchers and foresters who are elected by local producers. Committee members impact the administration of FSA within a community by applying their knowledge and judgment to help FSA make important decisions on its commodity support programs, conservation programs, indemnity and disaster programs, emergency programs and eligibility. In addition, members impact producers through their decision making, help shape the culture of a local FSA office, ensure the fair and equitable administration of FSA farm programs as well as conduct hearing and reviews as requested by the state committee and are accountable to the Secretary of Agriculture. For more information, visit www.fsa.usda.gov/elections or contact the local FSA office at 424-5525 or 330-533-5428.
