New services now available at local Ohio Sports & Spine

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ohio Sports & Spine Institute, a regional medical practice and rehabilitation center, has announced plans to bring acupuncture and nerve-testing services to its East Liverpool office, 16844 St. Clair Ave.

Andrew Hospodar, D.C., a chiropractic physician and licensed acupuncturist, will see patients in the local office, beginning Aug. 31. Acupuncture, the release reads, can be effective in easing pains that are often chronic in the lower back, neck and knees, and in reducing the frequency of tension headaches and preventing migraines. Hospodar has treated patients in the Boardman office since 2015.

Joseph Cerimele, D.O., a physician with expertise in electromyography, will provide EMG nerve and muscle exams in the local office, starting in September. According to a release, EMGs are important in the diagnostic treatment of patients with carpal tunnel, arthritis, pinched nerves, tingling or numbness in the arms or legs and other neurological conditions. Cerimele has treated patients across the Mahoning Valley for more than 25 years.

“We are excited about expanding the services we provide here in East Liverpool,” said Joseph DiDomenico, D.C., a physician who has operated Ohio Sports & Spine’s East Liverpool office for more than 25 years. “Acupuncture services are becoming popular for treating many kinds of pain, and we are pleased that the U.S. Veterans Administration and Medicaid now cover acupuncture treatment in many situations.

“Electromyography studies provide an excellent starting point for diagnosing many sources of aches and pain, including workers’ compensation injuries, car accident injuries and general incidents and conditions.”

Current and new patients may schedule appointments by calling the office at 330-386-6500. Most forms of insurance accepted.
