WELLSVILLE — Those who are looking for a relaxation experience and let their stress go away have a new place in downtown Wellsville to do so.

Residents and guests can enjoy that complete relaxation experience with The Massage Nook, a day spa specializing in a variety of massages and treatments meant to rejuvenate and relax.

Located at 445 Main St., and open since August, The Massage Nook offers a selection of waxings and facials for the outer beauty, and provides relaxation massages, Swedish massages, hot oil massages and hot stone massages, and can be done for 30- 60- or 90-minutes.

The Massage Nook is owned and operated by Megan McKenzie, a licensed cosmetologist and certified relaxation masseuse with two-and-a-half years experience. Previously, McKenzie was a masseuse at Ivywood before it closed last year.

According to McKenzie, The Massage Nook provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere without the necessity of having to wait for the appointment to begin, and once she gets to work, the experience provides for “a sanctuary from the outside world”.

“When they first come in here, it’s quiet,” McKenzie said. “I make sure that my appointments are spread out to the point that there’s no waiting for the service. You walk in, and you’re instantly put in the room.”

The quiet nature inside is accompanied by relaxed lighting with candles and soothing sounds that will help the customer feel at ease during the massage.

“A lot of the clients have used the word ‘tranquil’ when they come in because of the candle lighting and stuff in the room,” McKenzie said. “It’s calming when you walk it. It feels like you can breathe. It’s with calming, neutral tones.”

As part of the massage experience, McKenzie also uses various essential oils, all of which are natural, chemical-free and made in-house.

“Everything is natural,” McKenzie said.

Customers who were looking for a new experience can check out the spa, which has gift certificates available for those who look to make future visits.

Throughout the months, The Massage Nook will also offer various specials for customers looking to try a massage. Among the specials available in February are $5 off all massages, a one-hour massage for $30, and couples massages for $60.

The Massage Nook is open Monday-Saturday, all massages handled by appointment only.
