Paradise Sun Tanning at new Wellsville location
WELLSVILLE — The Paradise Sun Tanning Salon has provided residents and clients with quality tanning for the past five years, and now presents a wider selection and a new look at its new home.
Now located at 447 Main St., inside the former Center Pharmacy, Paradise Sun offers tanning services and a variety of lotions to help those achieve their desired skin tone. The new location offers five 15-minute tanning beds and one 10-minute stand-up bed along with airbrush tanning, the last of which is by appointment.
Owner Kristy Coulter and her staff of four look to provide a quality experience while also maintaining competitive with other tanning salons in the area.
“Our goal has always been to stay competitive and affordable for our local patrons,” Coulter said. “And we also price match, so if someone shows us an ad for another salon, we match it if it’s cheaper than ours.”
All of the staff at Paradise Sun are state-certified, and, according to Coulter, work with clients who are looking to get their first tan, done in a clean environment with all beds sanitized afterwards.
“When they come in, they’ll have to fill out paperwork from the state which determines their skin type, and their skin type determines how long they go in for to tan,” Coulter said. “Then, the girls walk them through the process, basically educate them on what kind of lotions to use, the safety of goggles. They’ll show them how to use the bed for the first time, more if needed when they come back.”
Coulter said while there is no specific age limit for tanning, those under the age of 17 will need a consent form signed by their parents.
Meanwhile, customers also have an opportunity to purchase a wide variety of lotions, all of which are available at the front desk.
As an incentive for new customers, the first tan is available for free, with monthly membership, unlimited weeks, single visits and numbered visit packages available afterward.
Buddy packages are also available, and clients can apply for an annual membership for $20, which gives them 20 percent off all items for a year and the ability to use the coupon with the discount.
Unlimited months are available for $20 in regular beds and $40 in the stand-up bed.
In addition, those who purchase year-long memberships also can receive an additional two months for free, while six-month memberships also include a seventh month at no additional charge.
Along with this, monthly specials are available, which can be viewed on the salon’s Facebook page by typing “Paradise Sun Tanning Salon,” along with weekly drawings.
“Everyday someone comes in to tan, they get their name put in a bucket, and every week we pull two names, and I give away something for free,” Coulter said.
Paradise Sun moved to its new location last May, and after making many renovations and changes, Coulter said she has received compliments on the cleanliness at the salon.
“It’s a better atmosphere, and it’s just better all the way around,” Coulter said.
All walk-ins are welcome at Paradise Sun, open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 330-532-9606, or visit “Paradise Sun Tanning Salon” on Facebook.
