Grimshaw added to CHANGE staff

WEIRTON — CHANGE Inc. is announcing its newest optometrist, Dr. Annette Grimshaw, to the Family Medical Care team.

Grimshaw received her optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry and has been providing vision care for more than 15 years.

She will be seeing patients, starting in October, at the West Street location in Weirton.

Zipfel joins SRMC staff

SALEM — Salem Regional Medical Center is announcing that Board-Certified otolaryngologist Terrence E. Zipfel, M.D., has joined its active medical staff.

Zipfel is providing ear, nose and throat (ENT) and allergy care services at his new office in the Columbiana Medical Center, located along East Park Avenue in Columbiana.

Zipfel earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He then completed his medical internship and residency training at the Penn State Geisinger Healthcare System, where he was appointed Chief Resident.

Prior to joining SRMC’s Medical Staff, Zipfel served as an otolaryngologist in the East Liverpool area for the past 18 years.

“About half of all doctors’ visits are related to problems with the ears, nose or throat; which can have a great impact on a person’s overall quality of life,” Zipfel said. “I look forward to helping patients of all ages improve their health by providing a comprehensive range of ENT services, including allergy testing and management; nasal and sinus procedures; ear surgeries; removal of masses and facial skin lesions; and treatments for voice, swallowing and throat disorders.”

In addition, Zipfel is joined at the practice by Board-Certified audiologist Barbara J. Thornberry, Au.D. Thornberry provides specialized audiology services for patients, such as hearing loss evaluations; hearing aids; and assessment of tinnitus, dizziness and balance disorders.

SRMC names new board members

SALEM — Three new members of the Board of Directors for Salem Regional Medical Center are Terry Criss, Denise Harlan, and Nelson Witmer.

With ties to the Sebring-Beloit area, Criss is Vice President of Sales for Apex Control Systems, which designs and builds controls for manufacturing, power generation and transportation industries. Located in the Sebring Industrial Park, Criss’ company has been an active supporter of the local economy since the business was founded in 1992.

Harlan is a Certified Public Accountant and a Principal at Schroedel, Scullin and Bestic, LLC in Canfield; with more than 26 years of public accounting experience. Her areas of professional expertise include consulting, financial and tax services for a variety of industries, as well as employee benefit plan audits and mergers and acquisitions.

Following the recent sale of his family’s longstanding agricultural equipment dealership, Witmer’s Inc. in Salem, Witmer is focusing on expanding Witmer’s Construction Inc.; which specializes in pre-engineered steel and wood frame buildings. His company serves the industrial, commercial and agricultural markets within a 75-mile radius of Columbiana.
