Pepperberry Suites’ Howell receives statewide honor

CHESTER — Lisa Howell, a care aide at The Orchards Pepperberry Suites assisted living facility, received the Outstanding Assisted Living Professional Award this month during the West Virginia Health Care Association’s annual convention in Morgantown.

The WVHCA presents the award annually to member employees who demonstrate exceptional performance in an assisted living community.

“Our residents and her colleagues see Lisa as loving, caring, personable, compassionate and inspiring,” said Jamie Bennett, administrator at Pepperberry Suites.

Bennett said Howell has a gift for making each resident feel special. Howell prepares special meals and bakes for residents, and her experience with Disney in Florida gives her food extra appeal, Bennett explained.

“Recognition as the Outstanding Assisted Living Professional for the state is most fitting for Lisa, who is willing to go that extra step each day in caring for our residents and inspiring her co-workers,” Bennett said.

“We are proud that Lisa is on the Pepperberry team, and we know our residents appreciate her devotion to their well-being.”

As the state’s largest long-term care trade association, the West Virginia Health Care Association represents more than 120 member nursing facilities, assisted living communities and residential retirement centers.

The Orchards properties are located in Chester, W.Va., and East Liverpool, Ohio.
