Kidders celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

EAST LIVERPOOL -Bill and Judy Kidder celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 15, 2013. A small family gathering was held at the Kidder residence on Saturday evening with a picnic style meal. An anniversary cake with the original bride and groom cake topper was the dessert. Bill and Judy shared with the family several items from their wedding day that included pictures, newspaper articles, announcements, invitations and reception napkins.

The couple received a number of gifts from family members. One big surprise was that Bill gave Judy a new gold and diamond wedding band in celebration of their golden day.

Marriage of the former Judith Erickson, daughter of Donald and Helen Dieter, and William Kidder Jr., son of William and Marcella Kidder Sr., took place on June 15, 1963, at Ohltown Methodist Church in Austintown. Judy and Bill met at Baldwin Wallace College where they both attended and their romance began.

Bill is currently retired from the Columbiana County Engineer Department and enjoying retirement life. Judy is currently employed as a grief counselor at Dawson Funeral Home and very active in the United Methodist Women and United Methodist Church.

Family of the honored couple includes a daughter and two sons: Laura (Steven) Swain residing in Rolling Prairie, Ind.; Dean (Ruth) from East Liverpool and Michael (Nancy) from East Liverpool. They have nine grandchildren: Jared, Chad, Andrew (dec.) and Amber (Laura and Steve), Dylan and Allie (Dean and Ruth) and Bill, Loni, and Michael (Mike and Nancy). They have two great-grandchildren: Navessa Sando (Amber) and Abigail Spears (Loni).
